'American Idol': Ellen DeGeneres replaces Paula Abdul as fourth judge

Well, that’s it for me ... I used to like the show .. but I won’t watch Ellen Degenerate

I wrote American Idol and told them they just lost me as a viewer. My daughter and I would watch together. We saw Ellen on "So You Think You Can Dance" as a guest host, and she didn't know ANYTHING about dancing. And surprisingly, she wasn't even funny. I noticed also on HuffPo that there were almost as many negative comments about Ellen (as host) as positive ones. I sent that link to Idol with my e-mail. What a big mistake!

She has no experience in the music business, unlike the other judges....not that the others are all that good at finding talent anyway.

So what is the point of adding her?

No one is shoving a lesbian down your throat, you don’t have to watch. I agree it makes no sense because she has no experience in the business, but lesbian or not (and really, who cares? she’s a good person), the woman cracks me up. She is a comedic genius.

I already decided that I’d had enough with 24. Now I’m done with American Idol too. Although I’d kind of already decided that since I didn’t watch any of it last year.

Part of the show’s appeal was the interaction between Paula and Simon though. Without that I think it will suffer a little, and maybe lose some ratings. Ellen can be funny though.
