A lot of things have changed in 11 years.
I'm willing to bet that there was a time way back when it was thought "land for peace" could work. By and large, it was a relative success with Egypt, as Egypt hasn't engaged in any hostile action against Israel since it was given back the Sinai Peninsula. But every other time it has been tried, specifically with Gaza and southern Lebanon, it has been a disaster.
Based on that track record, I can't blame any Israelis, including Bibi, for abandoning the idea after previously entertaining it.
