Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect yours. But consider this.

What would we be posting right now if the speech would have been in 2006 and Democrats were screaming about Bush lying about weapons of mass destruction?

Now I personally believe that a lie suggests the orator know the truth and intentionally deceives his/her audience. Does any here think Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction as an excuse to go to war in Iraq? Then do we believe that many democrats believed he did?

If we accept, as both of you have said, it is appropriate in this case because we believe he is a liar (as I do), then we give up our intellectual honesty and integrity when we admonish our opposition in the future for behaving the same way whether we think their pretense for doing so is right or wrong. Shall we be hypocrites because liberals are?

I personally enjoy being a conservative and all the presumptions of strong values and nobility that the label carries. Even liberal admit that they are wacky when you try to engage in intellectual debate about issues.

As I started, we may not agree on this. But dang I did so love it when he did. And it will help me sleep tonight.

2006? How about 2003 when we first launched that trillion dollar conflict and nation building exercise? And yes, where were those weapons of mass destruction anyway?
