COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sixty-one South Carolina House Republicans asked Gov. Mark Sanford to resign Wednesday, questioning his ability to lead the state since his unannounced summertime trip to see a mistress in Argentina and investigations of his state and private travel that followed.
"Your decision to abandon our state for five days, with no defined order of succession and with no known way to contact you, is inexcusable,'' said a letter from the lawmakers signed by House Majority Leader Kenny Bingham.

Dear SC Legislature: Put your money where your mouth is and impeach him, or else shut up. He clearly is not going to quit.
He needs to be gone yesterday.
I think Sanford is a putz, but the voters should put him out if they want to, not anybody else.

This is such bull crapp. And who is going to replace Sanford. Andre Bauer who stood on the senate floor during the fight to take the confederate flag off the SC state house dome and stated, almost verbatim, "I KNOW what the people of my district want, but I have to do what's best for South Carolina." That will be in the transcript of those hearings and is provable.
So they want to claim a "disconnect" and replace our Governor with someone who has a documented history of admitting to knowing the will of the people he represents and then voting contrary to that. Talk about disconnect. Just wow.
