His stepfather was muslim. His stepfather took him to the mosque. Obama learned to recite the koran.

His mother DID NOT wake him at 4.30am to give him english lessons.

FOUR-THIRTY AM IS THE TIME FOR THE FIRST MUSLIM PRAYER!

Yep, he does remember being up at 4:30 BUT... he is telling a big fat lie about his ‘commie mommy’ teaching him anything about America at that time of morning. She was probably getting her family ready to go to morning prayer.

He always has an ounce of truth and 15 ounces of lies for ALL of his childhood stories!

The below story is about someone else, but I find it very interest...especially when they mention the morning call to prayer.

“Waking up on the first morning in Jakarta, Indonesia was nostalgic.

It was like waking up young... like a child still living in my Lorong Ternak village when the still of the predawn hours broke by the call for morning prayer from the nearby mosque.

It was 4:30AM Indonesian time in Hotel Grand Cempaka.”

Sort of. Depends on your location, and the day of the year. Because the times are not fixed to the clock, but rather to the position of the sun. "before dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and evening."

Where "before dawn" and "afternoon" have particular meanings.

I don't think Mohammed had a clock. Wouldn't have been able to read it he'd had one.

Still, "before dawn" will often be around 4:30 in the summer months at least.
