Rape of Europe and Europa
St. Louis Today ^ | 9-9-09 | Anne T. Garcia

Americans were outraged several weeks ago when Libyan murderer Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was released from a Scottish prison. He was the only person convicted in the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988. Of those who died, 189 were American.

Allegedly presidential advisors and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had lobbied behind the scenes to keep al-Megrahi in prison. He was dying of prostate cancer.

Recall that President Obama traveled across the pond in March, hoping to beguile our European friends with his charisma. He apologized for our American stupidity with this quote. "In America there is a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world."

His deprecatory comments about his own country appalled many. After all, we had saved their sorry posteriors twice in the 20th century and freedom endured. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Krauthammer pointed out that we spend a half a trillion dollars a year policing the world. Meanwhile, he explained, Europe spends only pennies on their own defense and have been "sucking on your [America's] tit ?- for 60 years ?- parasitically."

The release of the Lockerbie murderer enraged Americans again when Libyan strong man Muammar Qaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, said it was "obviously" tied to a cheap oil deal for the United Kingdom. He later walked that comment back in an interview with The Herald. "People should not get angry because we were talking about commerce or oil ?- That was one animal and the other was the compassionate release. They are two completely different animals."

Too late for this propaganda piece, the truth is out, Obama and Clinton stood by and did nothing while they let him go. Too late to ‘spin’ it now...

-———————————Chilling words, knowing Cass Sunstein thinks animals should be able to sue, eh?
