Try to strike the root of evil, rather than hack at the branches. The Bible was banned from public schools in 1963, as a necessary step, just as subversion of the German church was a necessary step.

This doesn't mean that we will have a state sponsored religion or that everyone MUST become a Christian, but the unusual (in comparison to other countries) level of freedom afforded us by our Constitution only works with a people that are "self-governing".
