President Wants Bill Passed Soon
While White House spokesman Robert Gibbs today refrained from telling reporters whether President Obama in his speech Wednesday night will set a deadline for passing health care reform, sources tell ABC News that in his private meeting with Democratic congressional leaders this afternoon the key word was urgency.
The president told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., that it is important for them to pass health care reform bills soon, the sources said.
Both leaders told the president that despite the difficult rough and tumble of the legislative process in the last few weeks, they are optimistic that both the House and Senate can pass health care reform legislation.
What will be in the bill remains an open question, though after the meeting, Reid told reporters that we're going to do our very best to have a public option or something like a public option before we finish this work.
Yes. The opposition needs to make the next election a referendum on this issue. If a bill gets passed and signed it is not the end of the issue.
I imagine his speech tonight will change that.
Obviously Pelosi, Reid and Obummer are living in a bubble and that bubble is located on some planet other than Earth. They are in complete denial. They are like those three monkeys that see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil even though evil exists all around them and are just closing their narrow little minds to it all. They don’t give a rat’s patoot about the American people or what the American people want or think. It would be a matter of patriotic pride on the part of all Americans to vote all the left loons out of office next election.
Reid and Pelosi are full of sh!t....the main story yesterday on ABC radio was the democratic congressman from Arkansas (name escapes me) who is one of the main people on the committees drawing up the bill has said he has changed his mind and will now NOT vote for a public option based on his town hall meetings...
but let them go ahead- the long term damage to the rat wingers will be incalculable...
“We have the votes...”
Really! I say, prove it, go ahead, see what you will cause...
Did popular protestations matter to Joseph Stalin?
no, they mean nothing.
“So, are town halls and protests of any importance?”
YES!
We need to attack this administration on every front. Policy, Ideology, CZARS, Hypocrisy, Corruption, EVERYTHING. He’s on the ropes. Don’t be demoralized, keep hammering.
“Obviously Pelosi, Reid and Obummer are living in a bubble and that bubble is located on some planet other than Earth. They are in complete denial.”
Nuff said. Cut! Print! Lunch!
I wonder what Harry Reid will do when he is out of office?
Pelosi will, of course, continue to be the Senator from San Francisco - considering the constituency there.
The are going to ram it through and there is nothing any of us can do about it. Just like the stimulus, they don’t care what you think. What are you going to do about it?

RAT talking points: “The GOP has NO interest in doing what is right for America. The out of control costs of health care need to be addressed, and the Democrats and President Obama will do just that.”
Town Halls are very important when it comes to history. They will show what the American people use to be able to do. Under Socialism, they will be outlawed. When the health bill passes, we will be no different than Russia or Germany during the Second WW.
Sounds like they need their offices clogged with patriots.
However, one almost expects that were such to happen, they’d take all of DC out . . . gleefully including the best patriots around.
Sigh.
No, I don’t think the town halls will do enough. I think they are MOSTLY staged as . . . smoke screens
AND MOSTLY TO GET INTEL on patriots and other sane people who believe in the USA vs globalism.
They are important to let them know that they have conservative opposition, but otherwise they have no impact on the final outcome. Obama was elected, and has an agenda. He has no fear of reelection because I believe it does not matter to him and those in power. They will carry out their agenda knowing that it will be almost impossible to unwind once passed. They are in power and driving the ship. We can protest the path, but it really has no affect on the outcome.
She also claimed, remember, to "have all the votes I need to pass it right now" a full month ago, before all the town hall meetings. For some weird, inexplicable reason (HAH!), it didn't happen then, either. ;)
She likes that part ~ raise taxes, punish people ~ oh, my word, and you thought that facelifting and breast perking she goes through was just for pictures ~ oh, no, this ol'gal is the original dominatrix ~ she keeps the boots and whips under her desk, but she's definitely into lashing out and pulling up red meat off the public's back early and often.
These people are all perverts.
And this differs from the statements of the past 2 months how?
(Anyways, I have always thought they would get some sort of bill).
