The principal of the elementary school where I teach sent out an email at about 7:30 this morning saying that our campus would not be watching the speech. She asked that teachers who wanted to use the speech in the future check with her first. I don’t know if my entire district refused to air the speech or if it were a campus-by-campus decision, but I was incredibly grateful that Obarfa had one less opportunity to insinuate himself into the lives of my students.
The speech was innocuous, and reinforced what teachers tell their students anyway.
Protesting or obstructing this speech plays right into 0's hands. It's a stupid and ultra-partisan overreaction.
