A report released Sunday says two of five working-age Californians do not have a job, underscoring the challenges in one of the toughest job markets in decades. A new study has found that the last time employment levels among this group were this low was February 1977.

OBAMAVILLE

Gett’n a head fake, watchin' msn’s take; All of their pundits oozing foul oil. Clean’n my six gun on my front porch swing. Felling my blood-- It’s beginnin' to boil.

Wasted away again in Obamaville, Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt. Some people claim that Bush is to blame, But I know it's Obama’s fault.

There’s no rhyme or reason, They are all commitin’ treason With nothing to show but a brand new tax or two. But they are real beauties, Despotic duties, how they got passed I haven't a clue.

Wasted away again in Obamaville, Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt. Some people claim that it’s Bush we should blame, Now I think,-- hell with them it’s Obama’s fault.

I blew out my flip flop, Stepped on a pop top; Cut my heel, but I just cruise on back home. Because no medical care will the doctors render They say there’s little service I can tender And there’s no need for me to hang on.

Wasted away again in Obamaville Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt. Some people claim that Bush is to blame, But I know, it's my own damn fault. Yes, and some people claim that Bush is to blame, And I know because of my vote it's my own damn fault.

2 out of 5 California adults out of work:

The democrat party’s dream come true.

Disempowerment of the prolitariat is the key to more power to the Permanent Ruling Party.

This sounds really bad, “approxiamtely 40% of working age adults without a job” but during periods of full employment about 33% of working age adults are without a job.

Take it as you may.

Time to raise taxes some more, accelerate cap and tax type programs and increase environmental regulation (it’s for the children).

I imagine a lot fewer women were in the working world in 1977 so this would seem to be a lot worse.

If they're including full-time college students in this category, what's the big deal?

The number that's more significant, IMO, is the U-6 figure, which is about 16.8%. This category does not include full-time students, but does count those adults who are working part-time but want a full-time job, those who have given up looking for work, and those young adults who have moved back in with family or otherwise have found a means of support. In other words, everyone who would normally be working full-time but isn't.

There’s a lot of oil offshore they could be bringing up. Besides the taxes and royalties helping to balance the state’s books, you put a lot of oilfield construction guys and drillers to work, next thing you know you’re selling cars, not to mention tons and tons of steel and machine tools. And collecting sales taxes and income taxes on the lot.

Or, you could just loaf along with nearly half your people standing on street corners waiting for Obama to think of something. Or something.

I don’t need this “study”: I just look at the downtown core and go to Carl’s Jr in front of the LA library: 2 yrs ago at lunch time, you couldn’t get a seat. Now there are barely lines.

That is what they get for voting for Democrats and earth worshippers.

Go tell someone that cares. I don’t.

It probably also included women who choose to stay at home with the children.
