WASHINGTON (CNN) When former Boston Red Sox ace Curt Schilling started making noise last week about pursuing Ted Kennedys Senate seat, he said he had been contacted by several people about running but he declined to say by whom.
It turns out one of those people was John McCain.
McCains spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan told CNN Tuesday that the former GOP presidential nominee a friend of Kennedys spoke to Schilling last week and encouraged him to seek the office.
McCain initiated the conversation.

so 1 brain cell was actually active in McCain’s head when he initiated the conversation. Good for him..

“McCain does some things wise now and again.”
Yeah — he was having an “off” day, apparently.

That does it. McCain is persona non grata. He must of known prior to any call that Shilling is unenrolled, and that a Shilling candidacy is tantamount to throwing the seat to the dems. It would require Republicans to super-coordinate, and not nominate anybody.... or, have a 3-way dem-winning race.
Jerk.

Has Schilling made a decision yet? At this point all I know about him is HE’S NOT A KENNEDY...and that’s good enough for me.

McCain does some things wise now and again. The last wise thing he did before that was picking Palin. Before that you have to go back to Vietnam.
To: rabscuttle385
I think Pedro Martinez would have better luck.

Schilling would be a breath of fresh air for that polluted state.

If Schilling jumps in then he’d better do it soon before the Republican race becomes crowded. There are one or two in it already, and supposedly Andrew Card and Michael Sullivan are contemplating runs.

I’m starting to like him.

So will McCain also suggest Shilling endorse his Marxist, America hating opponent? After all, it worked so well for Juan!
