If you are saying what I think you are.... then I admire you for it. YES, men who do the right thing just because it is right..... are to be admired.

The nice man who held the door open for me at a restaurant last week.... his family had all gone in the door, I was next, but not in his party..... yet he held the door and smiled. He was a gentleman, not because of any rule, not because he was forced to be.... but simply because he WAS.

Exactly. And he will going being a gentlemen regardless of what anyone says about him or about the importance of being a gentleman, regardless of "the culture" or whatever passes for it these days, in media or elsewhere. Quietly and nobly, in sovereign contempt for the passing winds of fashion.
