There is some reason for us to be paranoid about the innocent words we use in conversation.
A while ago, I was talking to my sister and used the word “niggardly” which is a perfectly legitimate word and has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with race. It just means stingy. My sister called me a racist for using a perfectly good word.
Nowadays, anyone who tries to use the word “niggardly” will probably end up losing their job or be reported for being a racist.
Yeah, I have been chastised for the same.
When someone is "stingy", one should just state their annoyance by saying "you really are the N word aren't you".
It really is getting out of hand.
