Pro-Reform Doctor Wants Critics to Forgo Medicare

The doctor would argue that those anti-socialized medicine are hypocrites but I would argue that the doctor has made a very important point on why we should NOT want his government run plan: socialism is insidious; there is no turning back even when a program such as Medicare is failing We the People are stuck with it (by mandate or design).

I think it’s kind of a moot point.
Medicare (sooner) and Social Sec (later) are in huge financial trouble.

I just hope the Democrats who dreamed these up receive the same treatment as Madoff.

Despite the false claims of AARP, there are no hundreds of billions in the “trust funds”.

Like all other government programs, It is not something you get to decide on. It is forced, It is required if you want to collect social security that you paid for.

Oh and if you don’t use it, then your private insurance doesnt pay, because again it is the law that Medicare pays first. Not the insurance company’s decision, it is federal law!

Dr. Aaron Shirley, a pioneering African-American physician in Jackson, said the forums are obscuring the fact that real health care reform is needed to make sure that insurance remains affordable.

“Under current legislation, which includes a strong public health insurance option, 457,000 people in Mississippi – and 37 million Americans nationwide – will gain coverage by 2019,” he said.

The “lying and screaming disruptions” he has seen in these public forums reminds him of the scare tactics he saw during the early days of integration, where people shouted things like “Do you want your daughter to marry a n—–?”

Except that enrollment in Medicare is mandatory if one wants to be able to collect on their Social Security.

Exactly. If you want your money back that has been confiscated all your working life you must take Medicare.

And that is exactly what the "public option" will be. Want your tax refund? You must enroll in public insurance.

Want to attend a public university? You must enroll in public insurance.

Want to get a driver's license? You must enroll in public insurance.
