Glad I come to FR for my news.....now I know that the NFL is full of boy scouts/s
Over generalize much? First, you apply the label of felon to every player in the league. Then you say over 30% of the players are convicted felons. Then when you’re caught in the uncomfortable position of being not just wrong, but incredibly ignorant, you try to wiggle out with your “now I know that the NFL is full of boy scounts/s” nonsense.
The NFL is comprised of over 600 players, if you include paid practice squad players. MOST OF THEM ARE GOOD PEOPLE. There are the Mike Vick’s and the Pacman Jones’s in the group, but they are the exception to the rule. Most NFL players donate to charity. They sponsor football camps for inner-city youth. They visit sick kids and wounded soldiers in the hospital. They read and respond to fan mail. They stay after practice to sign autographs for little kids. There are many more “boy scouts” on NFL rosters than thugs.
You didn’t even bother reading Shawne Merriman’s account of what happened over the weekend. He was trying to do the right thing and prevent a drunk from driving. He has over 10 witnesses that back him up. But he’s a felon, right? Just because some MTV floozy says so. Apparently “innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t apply to NFL players.
Congratulations. You have proved to the entire forum you don’t know a d*mn thing about the article YOU posted.
