America is in need of a new Great Awakening an awakening that some Christian leaders say can only come about if Christians get on their knees.
America right now is facing great complexities. We have a financial struggle that were in, were facing health-care issues that have us scratching our heads. Our place in the world has shifted. Were a nation that really needs help from beyond ourselves. We feel like God is the help, The Rev. William (Billy) Wilson told CNSNews.com.
Wilson, executive director of the International Center for Spiritual Renewal, is a member of the Awakening America Alliance, which is sponsoring Cry Out America on Friday, Sept. 11 -- an event calling for thousands of Christians to gather at noon at county courthouses across the nation in repentance, to pray for the lost, to cry out for God to send another Great Awakening.

Sad that Christians wait until there is a crisis before falling on their face’s before God!
My daily prayers to God are ONLY thank you’s for my good health and surviving another day in these crazy times.
It saddens me how many Americans from all walks, left and right, are trying to co-opt 9/11 for their own narrow purposes. 9/11 should be a day of remembrance, unity, and being a proud American. It’s about remembering three planes hijacked by a dozen Islamo-fascists killing 2,000 plus people in an attempt to psychologically crush America. It’s about never forgetting this either. Never.
Pray for those who died & their families, pray for the county, but let’s not use the power of 9/11 in such an opportunistic way to cheaply support a 3rd party’s goal of a new “Great Awakening.” This is no less repulsive than how the left wants to redefine 9/11 as a day of service.
Just my .02.
It is hard for me to see the down side of any opportunity for Christians to cry out to God on behalf of their country, let alone see it as "repulsive" to encourage others to do so on a solemn occasion. And I don't know what "third party" you're talking about. My understanding is that there will be no speakers at any of these events -- just several people leading prayer for our nation. What is wrong with that?
Without the guiding and protective hand of God, these United States of America would never have been founded in the first place, and would not have lasted this long. And unless God continues to bless us, we will not survive much longer. This Friday at noon, my family and I will join with other Christians at our county courthouse to plead for God's mercy on our land.
thanks for your opinion...I do agree that we should NEVER forget the events of this day (just like the bombing of Pearl Harbor, right?). I also think that prayer is definitely needed for this country and its leaders. I think a lot of us have been praying hard since before the election, and we must not stop, ever.
