The resignation Sunday of Van Jones, White House environmental jobs "czar," is as much a cable TV story as it is a Washington political one.
Jones, who was appointed by President Barack Obama to a high level position as a special adviser on "green jobs" and the environment, has been exposed in recent weeks for using coarse and reckless language in public meetings and signing a petitition that suggested members of former President George W. Bush's administration might have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance and still allowed them to happen.
The media entity that first brought much of the information to light that led to Jones resignation -- information that the Obama administration either didn't know about or knowingly looked away from in appointing him -- wasn't NBC or ABC News or even the "New York Times." It was controversial Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck, who has a bit of a history with Jones.
What kind of history?
An organization, ColorOfChange, that Jones co-founded, launched a boycott against Beck's show -- and it has generated considerable publicity. ColorOfChange launched the boycott after Beck described President Obama as a "racist" on air.

The german panzers would paint a white ring around the gun barrel of their tanks for each enemy tank they destroyed.
Glenn Get one ring.
Oh yes, this is ALL about that racist, Glenn Beck -being upset about getting boycotted... :-)
HMMMM, another thread on here says that actually WND started the Van Jones attack 5 months ago. Glenn Beck was certainly the nail in his coffin, though.
The lefties are wearing out their race card. That thing is losing its “magic” and isn’t going to last much longer. Americans have had it with the ObamaComs’ “racist” rant.
Yup. They have to say that because they cannot refute what he has said (actually what JONES said). I wonder how much of the ignorant masses will simply believe this?
The ironic thing is Beck and Jones are very similar in their impolitic manner of speaking and their “big picture” expansive way of thinking.
If Beck were a political appointee and Jones were a TV pundit, Beck would be the one “resigning” and Jones would be signing a big contract.
If Van Jones declared war on Beck, then big surprise if Beck puts him under the spotlight. Van Jones would have no room to complain if he picked the fight.
Except thats not reall the way it is. Beck’s going after communists the way Buffy goes after vampires. Van Jones is on the list regardless, and so is O himself.
This was out months ago.......check out how many organizations this guy was running......
Better check out Nancy Sutley ...google an image.....remind you of anyone on the Supreme Court ?
why would these communist sympathizers want to expose any of Hussein's picks as a communist? They are all on the same team
Wasn’t even a “resignation”, just slunk off in the middle of the night, and on a holiday weekend to boot
Let’s begin a boycott of Olberman’s advertisers.
Two can play at this game.
Ahem ... were Glenn Beck an admin official,
you can bet your bottom dollar he was raised
with more sense than to speak like the actual
talk show commentator he is now.
Apples/Oranges .... and patriotism, discretion,
manners and upbringing.
Ludicrous comparison, IMO.
We don’t want to give Olberbuttmunch any more publicity. It might double his viewership to 4.
Glen Beck is nothing like Van Jones—He wasn’t a Communist, a radical, or placed in position of power. Beck has something Obama and his whole crew lack—humility.
Van Jones didn’t land in trouble for things he said/did since he was an Obama appointee. It was for things he said BEFORE he was in that position.
He did modulate his speech AFTER he was appointed.
Beck and Jones are similar with regard to temperament ... thought their views are wildly divergent.
I didn’t say Beck and Jones are alike in beliefs.
I said they are similar in temperament, ways of speech, and in expansive ways of thinking.
