I heard on NPR last week that some lefties are making noises about withdrawing from Afghanistan. Although its just stating the obvious, we remind the left that we are in Afghanistan fighting extremism because they attacked us.
“Although its just stating the obvious, we remind the left that we are in Afghanistan fighting extremism because they attacked us.”
A) Where are those that attacked us?
B) If they are not in ashcanistan any longer, why are we?
Terrorist organizations, containing members of many nationalities, set up shop in those countries to train their jihadists and terrorize not only the local populations, but plan attacks around the world.
We are in many countries tracking down factions under the Al Queda umbrella. We are not at war against any nation, only individuals terrorizing the world using jihad and terrorist acts.
We are there because 0 wanted to shift the focus from the imminent Bush victory in Iraq. What does naive 0 know about Afghanistan that the best military minds don’t?
Afghanistan is a meat grinder, it always has been and always will be. Supposedly, we are now there to defend civilians. All the civilians in that country are not worth one American life. We should get out of there asap.
Where are they? Waiting to take over Afghanistan back the moment we leave. Karzai’s government won’t last three months if the USA were to leave. Then you get Taliban back up and running, Mullah Omar back in Afghanistan, and you have Bin Laden coming out of hiding to public touting how he beat the USA in Afghanistan. If the USA had OBL, had Zawahari, had Omar, I’d say yeah, there’s no need to stay. But without those people, any American withdrawal on the turf that we kicked them out would be a strategic victory for them.
