The Naked Cowboy of Times Square says he's dropping out of the race for mayor of New York City.
Robert Burck is a tourist attraction known for strumming his guitar in the square while wearing only white briefs, boots and a cowboy hat.
[snip]
But now he says he's had enough of the red tape that goes with a mayoral run.
He says the last straw came when the city's Conflicts of Interest Board fined him $250 for failing to file a required financial disclosure form.
Burck says the only way to be taken seriously is to appear in a suit and tie.

This naked cowboy assclown can’t be any worse than the assclown N.Y. now has as their mayor.
Funny your comment. The topic of politics came up over dinner last night; my neighbor, who is the head IT guy for Bloomberg business for over a decade happened to mention that the conventional thought among his group is that Mike would make an excellent presidential candidate. Their logic comes from the fact that he is a straight arrow, astute in leadership and business and can’t be bought.
I know New Yorkers wouldn’t agree with that, but then, NYers can’t agree on anything. Republicans opine daily that Obama has no experience as a businessman, hence our state of affairs.
It’s an interesting “what-if” subject.
I don’t really follow Bloomberg that much, but I think FReepers would be apoplectic at the thought of him running for President.
As some were for Giuliani. But those who derided him, also dislike all RINOs. I don’t see how, in a huge metro area like NYC, you can get anyone but a centrist, who will appease several factions.
I understand that this “cowboy” clown had no chance against Bloomie and his vast resources.
Bloomie is an opportunist RINO piece of crap.
And since he took over the city hasn’t been as good.
Well the Naked Cowboy’s campaign was, as expected, SHORT. It was very BRIEF.
All hat and no saddle so to speak....
