As Labor Day approaches, marking the unofficial end of summer, many Americans are grabbing their last chances at a variety of activities: neighborhood cookouts, family outings, lounging by a pool or taking a last few days of vacation.
There’s one other thing that all Americans, especially small business owners, should grab a last chance to do. They should contact their lawmakers in person before they go back to Washington after the holiday.

Our congressman, Ike Skelton (D) 4th District, Missouri, has refused to meet with constituents during the recess. he claims to have met with “hospital administrators and other professionals,” or some such nonsense but has clearly identified himself as a coward. Ike voted for the Carbon tax and no doubt will line up with the left-wing dingbats on socialized medicine. Ike is the last remnant of the old KC Pendergast Machine and is approaching 30 years in congress. Time for his to get the heave ho !
The thing to take away from the protests this August is how out of touch your congressional clunker really is with reality. It was on full display.
And here I thought the town halls were to be listening events.
