We should all oppose this on principle. The President has no place in the classrooms of all America's youth. We did not elect him to be our kids teacher, a pricniple, a local administrator, or school board member. We do that at the local level for precisely this reason.

This effort by the Obama White House is an abject abuse of pwoer. He has no constitutional edict or mandate to talk to our children without our knowlege of what he will have to say, without our ability to opt out.

That the WH was preparing educational material for supplemental lessons in the calss is even more troubling. Clearly, he is trying to influence the kids towards his way of thinking and that is not the place of the schoolroom...ever.

As I said, it should be opposed on principle. It is a troubling and even dangerous precedent given the historical precedent.

I am able to reason with most liberals on this issue when I make the following statement:

I think having a Sarah Palin WH schedule a direct feed broadcast to your children 6 years from now, with educational materials prepared for follow ons with the kids also prepared by a Palin WH, and without your knowledge or consent, would evoke a different attitude...but that is porecisely what this precedent establishes.

Some sputter at this, others are in complete denial because the truth assaults them and they do not want to hear it...but the point is driven home because they are faced with the abject reality of their anger and hate for Sarah Palin (a patriotic and wholesome American woman) and their support for a policy which could give her the same perogative.

I just faxed my son’s high school the letter that excludes him from the broadcast audience.

without our ability to opt out.

And then, all the children who opt out will find themselves on an "enemies" list.

It will probably be put into their permanent record, too.

I disagree with that a bit. I don’t have an issue with The President of the United States visiting school classrooms or giving a harmless pep talk about the value of a good education.

My issue is that is not what was going to happen. It was once again going to be about him and how those children could serve him. It’s not the speech that is the problem but the content.

Reagan and daddy Bush did it.

Not that I support this because I have full confidence he will twist it into something political.
