Then where is the evidence for what you stated? The Bible was an oral history and written down years if not centuries after it supposedly take place. None of what has been seen backs up your view. Is god so mean that he want to deceive us over thousands and thousands of observations?

The Grand Canyon was formed because the land is rising. The river has stayed about the same elevation. The river has eroded the canyon as the land rose about a mile around it.
The Great Lakes are getting shallower. It’s not because of “global warming”, it’s because the land is rebounding because of thousands of years of mile high glaciers depressed the land. The water for the glaciers came from the oceans. During the ice age, the Oceans were hundreds of feet lower.

God created man, and will allow a large percentage of that creation burn for eternity in hell. He turned an entire city into a fiery salt hellhole. He turned a woman into a pillar of salt. He ordered his people to kill men, women, and children, to burn down cities, to take no prisoners.

And you won’t believe in “god” if that “god” was “so mean” that “he” would decieve us by creating evidence that would allow us our delusion about his lack of existance, if that is what we chose to believe?

Let me turn that around for you. Let’s assume for this argument that God’s salvation is free will (I’m a predestinationalist, but that’s another discussion). God creates Man, but wants to give him the ability to reject God, if that is what Man wants to do. Each man is to be given the ability to refuse to believe in the God revealed in the Bible.

Now, what kind of free will would God be giving us, if he provided irrefutable scientific proof that God exists and that he created us? What man would be able to resist the truth, if the truth was so plain to see that there was no evidence whatsoever in opposition to that truth?

We would in fact be forced to believe, unless we simply wanted to ignore everything we saw around us.

So, under that hypothesis (free will, a God who loves us enough to provide the choice to us), you would almost have to postulate a God who planted evidence for a “lack of God”, so that humans, who are not stupid, could, if they chose, find “evidence” to support their rejection of God.

OK, let’s step back from that exercise. In the bible, God says that, in fact, the world reveals Him, but that some wish to reject Him. And the bible says that those who wish to reject Him, He gives them up.

When Jesus was asked why he spoke in parables, He said it was to keep some people in the dark. Elsewhere it says that hearts are hardened, lest people understand and come to the truth.

You of course are free to reject this God who created the world but won’t save it all. In fact, God specifically planned for many of His creation to reject the truth. And obviously, being humans, and not stupid, those who reject God will form MANY arguments for why the reject God, including the “God’s not fair”, or “God’s mean”, or “God doesn’t exist”.

Astounding. How long has water been flowing uphill, in order to erode the Grand Canyon?

Or, is there some sort of hydrological feature that is somehow limited there, to the highest elevation of this regional uplift, and this forms the headwater of the Colorado River, in the middle of the Grand Canyon?

I'm familiar with the figure of speech, that "water always finds it's own level," but I never knew flowing water to be sentient and desirous of maintaining a certain altitude above sea level, either.
