It’s not even so much the speech (although it would help if we could all preview it). What’s particularly disturbing is the “Classroom Activities” suggestions for teachers to do both before and after the speech. They not-so-subtly nudge students toward the president’s political agenda and get them to focus on what they can do for the president. They also promote collectivism.

Big difference. They both went to a local school and talked to kids, and it was carried by CNN, CSPAN etc. It was not requested to be broadcast into the schools. The Dept. of Ed did not send out curriculum for the teachers to follow during the broadcast.
Obama is planning on trying to do a "presidential address" to the kids. A "state of the union" address if you will. HUGE difference between going to a local school to talk to a group of kids and the media carrying it as news vs the Obama Indoctrination Approach.
