Obama czar (Van Jones): U.S. was 'apartheid regime'

TEL AVIV – The U.S. was an "apartheid regime" that civil rights workers helped turn into a "struggling, fledgling democracy," according to President Obama's controversial environmental adviser, Van Jones.

In a video screened by WND, Jones also called for a new "theology of resistance" and "theology of liberation" aimed at transforming American society.

Jones was speaking at the July 2005 Conference on Spiritual Activism in Berkeley, Calif., organized by radical activist Michael Lerner, the founding editor of the far-left magazine Tikkun.

Stated Jones: "We forget sometimes that the people who poured out their blood on the ground in this country, to turn an apartheid regime into a struggling, fledgling democracy, the so-called civil rights workers, when they went to face the dogs, when they went to face the fire hoses, when they sat shivering in cold jail cells soaked in blood, when they faced lynch mobs, when they found their children shot down in the street, they didn't march at laundromats , they didn't march at high school gymnasiums.

He’s the ultimate radical. Obama knows it and knew it when he appointed him.

The only “apartheid” like laws I’m aware of were passed by southern Democrats in the late 1800’s. So if there was anything resembling apartheid in the U.S., it was the fault of the Democrats.

I like the way the Democrats take credit for remedying a situation they created. Actually, that’s rather typical. They create a mess, and then come up with a program to correct the mess.

I say no - he seems to be Topic #1 here today, and each story just gets more outrageous! As for the WH, they are not sorry they hired him, but they are very, very sorry all of this has been found out, to paraphrase GWTW.

this moron is an idiot - I seem to remember somewhere that several hundred thousand ‘white’ Americans spilled their blood in places like Antietam, Gettysburg, The Wilderness and more....so that all american could be free....

If you look at all positive things this country has done since the dark days of slavery and Jim Crow, do we have any equal? Is there a nation where so many different people live in peace on a daily basis?

We have had our issues. Our progress makes me proud to be an American, and ashamed of those who profit by rubbing salt in the wounds of the past.

(Crickets sounds)

Of course not.

But since there are no other society that allows so much freedom and asks so little in return, the Left 's answer is: Why let a good club go to waste and bashes America for not being "perfect."
