A very long time ago in a galaxy very far away, I live in Omaha Neb. near the Offet AFB. They held a drill and every BUFF took off! What a sight to behold, it was then I knew it was the sound of freedom!
Then, when I was back in my beloved CORPS stationed in Yuma, Az. I was posted at the “hot spot” [a rapid response post in the middle of the airfield] & after the Yuma air show we had a B-52 take off and the wings passed right over out P 19 crash fire rescue truck. We were really rocking & rolling then!

Served at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan during the mid Seventies. We were a SAC Base that housed B-52s and KC-135 tankers.
Loved listening to the engine run-ups, and the smell of jet fuel early in the mornings. Watching them take off was a thrill that will never leave me.
