WASHINGTON -- Members of the 82nd Airborne Division headquarters serving in Afghanistan have been told their tours will be extended by 52 days from 12 months to nearly 14 months.
Hundreds of officers and non-commissioned soldiers were told this weekend that they would have to stay longer so that their replacements in the 101st Airborne Division could have 12 months at home -- a sign at how stretched the forces remain. The members of the 82nd Airborne were supposed to return in May 2010, but will come home sometime in July, according to a senior defense official.
Troops' families at Fort Bragg, N.C., were told about the extension at a town hall meeting this weekend

Could you show me the media outrage in rerence to this?
Probably just as well you can’t.
Like I said earlier to someone at the store, I despise the bastatrds that inflicted obama on me more each day, in fact, it should be against the law the degree to which I despise them.
And for what reason? What’s the objective?
Where’s the protesters against this war monger??!!
Obama owns this from the tip of his head down to his toes. Now that he caught the car...let’s see what he does with it. We’re waiting Mr. President!!!
Obama’s failed policies.....
Unless they can bash Bush, the GOP, conservatives or anyone who says/does/thinks anything negative about their dear leader, it's not news to them. Example: tea parties - thousands upon thousands of Americans attending, but to the media, they're not happening (unless it's a story they can twist to their liberal advantage). And they wonder why people no longer watch/read/listen to them.
I’ve got a question: What’s going on in Navy (perhaps other?) recruiting?
A friend of mine enlisted in the Navy a couple of months ago. His report date was said to be in November. Just last week he gets a notice from his recruiter that his report date (to boot camp) has been delayed indefinitely, though he said it would probably be June or July of 2010.
What’s up with that? I find it hard to believe that the Navy is just so stocked up on recruits that they can just basically shut down boot camp for several months. Are they cutting back on the budget that severely?
Anybody plugged in on the situation with the Navy?
