Damn well ought to be here, there is a cottage industry of lawyers who make their livings getting drunk driver off.

I'm all for civil liberties, but I am also in favor of throwing drunk drivers under the jails.

Forced catherization is going too far and since this guy blew below the limit, there was no probable cause, but I have no problem with the new Texas law and I have zero tolerance for drunk drivers.

What is the legal limit for ethanol in urine? Since the volume of the bladder is variable, is it a concentration or an absolute amount? Di it come from ethanol ingestion or is it the end product of digestive processes of other ingested substances?

I believe that testing for actual amounts or concentrations of anything in urine is problematic.
It is fine to establish presence or absence of drugs but not to determine dosage.

Thanks for your comments. There is a very ugly side to drinking/alcoholism that unfortunately too many people disregard.

"Don't do the crime if you can't serve the time."

Just wait until they start testing for Tootsie Roll, Twinkie or Big Mac residue.

I'm sure you will be very supportive of that also.

I'm all for civil liberties, but I am also in favor of throwing drunk drivers under the jails.

In 2007, 37% of automobile fatalities were caused by drunk driving.
That means 63% were NOT.
What do you desire for that 63%? Orange chicken and rice pilaf, maybe some air conditioning?
