If the Constitution is being shredded by an illegal regime with no authority, the military's Oath to "preserve" the Constitution kicks in, simple as that.

How does 'preserve and protect' include overthrowing the civilian government when the Constitution does not allow it? Isn't that like destroying the village in order to save it?

Look Nellie, tell me where in the Constitution it states that 'overthrowing the civilian government' is specifically prohibited? Furthermore, point out the section that prohibits the military from throwing out an ILLEGAL regime which has no Constitutional authority in the first place?

Isn't that like destroying the village in order to save it?

You're the village idiot, you tell us.
