Nor do I mean to be a “Paine” (loved the pun, btw!), but one of the major themes is ‘demonic nothingness,’ which means death...endless death. Death of soul, mind, reason, life, innocence (ie., babies), beauty, truth, virtue, and creation. Demonic nothingness is at bottom, the pure, unadulterated nothingness of satanic envy, which CS Lewis called ‘that Hideous Strength.” JRR Tolkien depicted it as Sauron’s blasted hell.
If you’ve not watched the DVD, Demographic Winter, which warns that the world is heading toward catastrophe due to abortion, family planning, breakdown of the family, and other issues, then I urge you to watch it. It’s truly the unheard, unreported story of our time. It is also, in my opinion, a precurser to Demonic Nothingness.

I think what I see happening, even here on Free Republic, is power of speaking the truth to all comers, and those lurkers who are spoiling for meaningless contention, at some point have to realize that the time for willfull intellectual and spiritual nonsense is over.
Now is the time for mercy. Soon it will be too late. It is so comforting to have access to the Sacrament of Confession. God bless you!
