I dont think most of us would have a problem with a President addressing the nations school children at the beginning of the year, and talk about how great this nation is, and how much better it can be if they study hard, challenge them selves in school, at home, in their place of worship, and in the community. And most important stay in school. A Bill Cosby type of message.
But that is not what Obama had in mine. He is taking this address to our children straight from Sauk Alinskys book. Get the children on our side, divide them from their parents conservatism early, and most important show these cute little kids on the news . The Aaawwwww factor is a very powerful tool.

There is a video recommended by the Education Dept. to be part of the teacher's presentation, done by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, that attempts to sell bedrock liberal tenets to the kids. It is absolutely sickening, and it proves your point.
My problem with the whole thing is that the program is being done with "stimulus" money. In the video the kids are exhorted to "consume less", this message brought to you by "stimulus" money. They act as if the private sector just doesn't exist.

Right you are! A freeper posted this on another site that explains it all.
"Brainwashing is a system of befogging the brain so a person can be seduced into acceptance of what otherwise would be abhorrent to him. He loses touch with reality. Facts and fancy whirl round and change places.... However, in order to prevent people from recognizing the inherent evils in brainwashing, the Reds pretend that it is only another name for something already very familiar and of unquestioned respect, such as education or reform." Edward Hunter, Brainwashing (New York: Pyramid Books, 1956), pages 185-186)
