The Scottish Government has suffered a defeat in parliament over its handling of the Lockerbie case.

The move fell short of a vote of no-confidence in the SNP government.

So a terrorist thug goes free and the only punishment that those who made it possible face is losing their jobs? What kind of messed up world is this?
As a general rule, politicians always get “get out jail free” cards. Afterall, it was their intent that counts.
This means what exactly? SNP still will retain power apparently since there was not a no-confidence vote. whenever the next election is these dopes will probably be reelected.
How long until that election anyway? Gordon Brown needs someone in London to set up a giant countdown clock, he needs a permanent vacation.
Nah.
This was a minority govt anyway (56 seats when 65 are needed for a majority), and that was allowing for the fact that the SNP vote was for many a protest vote due to the unpopularity of the Iraq war.
Labour or the Lib Dems will win the majority of Scottish seats at the 2010 British General Election. SNP may very well end up 3rd.
2010-—British general election.
2011-—Scottish, Welsh, NI and English regional elections.
Even with Labour’s popularity in the pits?
The spectre of Thatcher still looms large over Scotland. So in the industrial areas, the Tories will pick up little. The West of Scotland is also a depressingly ‘ma daddie voted Labour, so did ma grandad’ area where the silly notion of voting Labour because you are working class still exists.
Lib Dems could win an outright victory, but there will probably be so much cancelling out of each other....
so you think Labour will win in Scotland next election?
