On Saturday, Sept. 19, Romney will speak at the Values Voters Summit, an annual conference in the capital, put on by the Family Research Council, that frequently draws GOP presidential hopefuls.

Further proof, as if any was needed, that neither the word "values" or the organization known as "Family Research Council" stand for anything whatsoever.

I voted for Mitt in last year's primary. He quit the next day.

Personally, I don't think Americans are going to be in the mood for a "moderate" this time around. We've had our fill of "moderates". The next president is going to have one hell of a rebuilding project ahead of him/her. A "moderate" won't cut it.

The math was that McCain was going to win. Basically the Huckster voters in West Virginia did him in. I think he would have been a stronger candidate than McCain but obviously a lot of posters here feel McCain is stronger and want Mitt to go away.

he posed as a conservative and fooled a lot of people. That’s what’s scary. Those that voted for rudy or mccain knew what they were getting into.

To be clear to all you Mitt fans. There are roughly 60 votes in my conservative circle and family and not a single one has any passion for Mitt. He is the Republican version of Bill Clinton in that he will morf into anything for a vote. He gives different speech's to each group based on what he thinks they want to hear.

He makes my skin crawl “Exactly like Clinton”.

Yet another reason to join Sarah's campaign to help her kick Obama and Romney square in the nads come the November 2012 election. And if Obama's been forced to resign by then, reserve line-up players Biden, Byrd or Hillary will also meet with a well-placed scrotum kick with Sarah's size 7 snow boots.

i think Huckabee would’ve been stronger than mccain or romney. McCain really blew it when he played games with the debate only to come back saying he was for the bailout after all. Huck would have opposed the bailout and delivered a grand slam. doesn’t mean he would win but at least the gop would be on record for opposing the unpopular bailouts.

We can beat Obama, but not with this guy. When Obamacare is crippling his Presidency, why the heck would we run the architect of a health care plan that isn’t all that different?

If Romney had come out and admitted that Romneycare, as it turned out, has been a failure and that America needs something different, then he might have had a chance. Instead, despite many of his Freeper apologists’ pleas that it was “messed up by the Democrats”, Romney has taken ownership of Massachusetts health care by defending it and giving it an ‘A’.

Now, of all times, is when Republicans need to distinguish themselves from Democrats. Romney simply isn’t the man for the job.
