Whether or not there is a public option is only of minor significance for the general public. (big difference if you’re an insurance company)
HR 3200 still mandates all private sector policies to be virtually identical, and they be purchased only through the Federal Insurance Exchange. The HR 3200 mandate that all people must buy one of these Government designed plans makes it rather inconsequential that it’s being technically underwritten by a “private sector” company.
