Synopsis: Johnston joined the Army Reserves in June to get some financial security for her family.
huffingtonpost, a joke story.
What? Working supplies financial support for families? The hell you say!
Good for her.
I wish her luck.
Could not find another source for this story.
Why is it a joke? Do you dispute the basic facts of this story?
I guess then, in the learned opinion of no less than John F’in Kerry, she is too stupid to do anything else.
4 kids age 3 to 15
she is 34 standing 5 feet tall
her parents will babysit her kids
her enlistment plus finances destroyed her marriage a couple of weeks ago
Just what the Army Reserves was created for - to be a welfare program for neglected children and some emasculated man’s self centered tiny wife. Afghanistan awaits.
A friend, whose husband is in the military, says that so many are joining because of the economy, that her husband has not gotten his orders yet.
She’s a pretty lady. I wish her luck.
As an experienced Army officer and company commander, my first thoughts mirrored this.
I wish her well, but I also wish her company commander well.
Anecdotally and statistically;
shows up late
calls in sick
unable to deploy or meet monthly/annual training requirements
requires special accomodations “for the children”
Nothing personal against the lady, just the statistical probabilities.
A couple of years ago someone on FR mentioned that he had to arrange his unit’s schedule to facilitate the need of new mothers to breast feed!
You would not see this from this commie site it it were a pro war story. I call the Huffy post a joke site with a moron running it, so what is so significant that this should be a headline story?
“Maternity” BDUs; When you absolutely, positively have to take a 7 mos. pregnant soldier into combat.
I thought it was significant on several levels.
1. It is a liberal website giving a posititve story about someone joining the military.
2. It is a liberal website which hints that Obama is not keeping his campaign promises to turn the economy around ... or at least not fast enough for this family.
3. It is a liberal website which portrays someone in a positive light who is going to extrodinary effort to get a job (and going to boot camp at age 35 no less) rather than wait for a handout to supply her with health insurance and money for her family.
Altogether, the article seems to me to portend a shift in liberal attitudes towards Obama and the Democratic congress’s handling of the economy.
c’est la vie
“It is a liberal website giving a posititve story about someone joining the military.”
Leftists think the military is for losers. Thus this woman having to join the reserves for financial reasons proves how desperate she must be.
Just wait until she has to deploy.
