Todays rumor of presidential overreach starts at the National Legal and Policy Center and the Drudge Report, which has launched a slew of e-mails about official spying on social-networking sites. The NLPC found an RFP from FedBizOpps, the site that publishes all opportunities to do business with the federal government, that offers a contract for a company to collate data from the Internet. Is Big Brother upon us?

Here’s my response to Obama and his spies:
FUBO....
That certainly is what some want us to believe.
bttt
They want to nationalize social networking. Facebook and Myspace stand in their way and must be driven out of business.
(Kidding - kind of)
Is Big Brother Obama watching?
Probably.
Hey, Obama goons, if you’re monitoring FR, tell your boss that we will not be intimidated. If he hasn’t gotten the message yet, we’ll yell it louder.
growing legs ping :)
I assume they’re already crawling the web looking for enemies of their State.
Bush did spy on the terrorists because their cell phone calls were routed through this country and the dimrats and their media went postal. Spying on the bad guys who want to hit us is kind of one of those Constitutional duties of the President to protect the country. The left never understood that Bush was protecting their lives as well. Now we have a guy who claims to be the President who is moving to actively spy on AMERICAN CITIZENS. WHY would they want to do this? First off ozero has no interest in keeping our country safe from an attack, hell I think he is setting the table for an attack. Spying on American citizens who disagree/dissent only leads to political prosecutions to silence opponants. That leads to an attempt to a power grab that this country has never seen. I really hope that there is some law enforcement agency that is working to blunt/stop this takeover of our country. So far, we see nothing out of the repubs, any judges and very few in the media. Those in the media are being threatened by this admin. I guess they are on to something. Check my tag line.
Picking up steam ping!
Ed Morrisy seems to be defending the action. It will be interesting to see how the moonbats react when the shoe is on the other foot. We should remind them that Obama and the democrats will not always have control in Washington. So I guess it is OK with the leftists if we gather all of their personal info when we get power back in DC...LOL!
I got a couple of emails about this yesterday - I’d put sonme remarks on my facebook site about healthcare and the deficit spending.....and a couple of my friends sent me an email warning me that O was going to be collecting info......
Scary stuff indeed!
At this point I’m not ready to agree with Captain Ed. My read on the RFP is that EOP content is not clearly defined.
I understand the EOP content is subject to NARA however responses to EOP content are not clear to me. For example, say EOP posts an article on Facebook, twitter, etc. What data must be saved? Any individual response and who makes this decision?
IOW they are already doing this and now they want to actually use the information so they are going public.
Just wait for the next joe the plumber.
