"During my visit to Berlin last week I witnessed first hand the price we paid for being helpless, but we returned to our homeland, and we are obligated to strengthen our hold on the land and preserve our independence," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told students at a school in Sdeh Eliyahu belonging to the cooperative settlement movement (Hityashvut Ovedet).
Netanyahu visited a number of schools throughout the country on Tuesday, the first day of the new school year.
"We advocate education that stresses values, Zionism and a love of the land, which you are practicing here," he told the students and faculty at Sde Eliyahu.
During his meeting with students in Modi'in, Netanyahu was asked whether he was excited about being elected prime minister. "Yes, but not a much as the last time, because I knew what was waiting for me," he responded.
Addressing the reports of a possible prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, the PM said captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit would be returned "only when it will be made possible. We are continually thinking and working towards this end."

I personally can’t see Netanyahu selling out Israel to Obama. Watching Netanyahu’s career all these years, he knows much better than that.
He’s totally playing Obama. You’ll see.
I remember Bibi’s first inaugural speech. “B’ezrat hashem,” he said, we will succeed.
He has been stringing Obama along since May, and I’m sure he has a plan to thumb his nose at Obama at his peace summit this month too.
Bibi seems to have gotten much more religious in his perspective, and that has clarified his language.
Obama has never proven that he is fit to be President of the USA, not to this day. We know all about Netanyahu, but not much about Obama at all. Most of us to not repect this thing that we are told to call “President”. His past has all been hidden from us, even his college scores. We all know that no one hides things unless they are things to be ashamed of. Obama is shameless, and a Jew hater.
I wonder if he’ll be able to get through four years without having that birth certificate exposed, with whatever is on it.
