Ok, she'll be at this one (Palin takes Hong Kong)

Sarah Palin's spokeswoman, Meg Stapleton, says the former governor will indeed be speaking in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong-based brokerage firm CLSA said this week that Palin will be the keynote speaker at their annual investor's conference this month. But, given recent history, it seemed prudent to make sure Palin was actually on board. Stapleton also confirmed reports that Palin has signed with the Washington Speakers Bureau to handle her paid speaking engagements.

It looks like the Speakers Bureau will straighten out the speaking engagement mess for the better.

Didn’t someone say the CLSA Hong Kong gig was a joke ruse? Anyone out there have the goods / info?

No, that was liberal spin, trying to embarrass Palin.

HotAir debunked it though.

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like a good move for the ‘Cuda.

Some of the Palin people get really upset when you beat up on Meg Stapleton, but really, was it too much to ask a potential national campaign effort to make trains run on time?

You want to beat Barack, you gots to keep your appointments.

Best,

Chris

Why would a financial company pay a $100,000 speaker fee to Palin and pay for her travel from AK to Kong Kong just to smear her?

In a recession, liberals would not waste their own money to do that.

“Some of the Palin people get really upset”

they need to grow a thicker skin and stop being so defensive over every little critique.

Good to hear, I read this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2329794/posts earlier and I was a little worried about the Hong Kong visit.

Yep. She’s getting it all sorted out just fine. I loved reading that she has 85% of her book done, too. I suspect she’s had a very productive summer, and we’re just going to see better and better things from here on out.

Chris, if she didn't confirm, then how could "keep" her appointments?

I've been invited to a million parties but couldn't go to them all because of one reason or another. Does that mean I snubbed them all too?

I have no idea what her book will be about... with that said: if it's about conservatism, our founding, or where America should head, I hope she sites sources all over the place like Mark Levin did with Liberty and Tyranny.

I noticed she did exactly that with an article about the Obamacare bill in the House. I hope she continues to do the same.

Back up everything with truth, the facts and history!

I don’t know what it will say, but I’m going to guess that it’ll be a best seller.

That was an IBD speculation. I would hope the speaking company would protect her. If she is going to make $100,000.00 dollars I think the joke would be on them not her anyway.

Yes, but they have to be appointments YOU make and not appointments people say you are making and you never agreed to do......

If Palin can’t make to the White House, these high priced speaking engagements are her best revenge. Past political celebrities who attended the Hong Kong firm were Al Gore and Alan Greenspam. Last week, Palin received an invitation to Michigan’s Economic Club. Past attendees were Laura Bush and Dick Cheney. Palin is receiving invitations from elite organizations. The Left and RINOs are angry with this. To them, Palin is an idiot and quitter who doesn’t deserve these invitations. Palin can laugh her way to the bank.

Meg Stapleton works for Sarah Palin. As I posted at C4P I assume she is competent and not a victim of the Peter Principle. I don’t think Sarah would keep her on if she was indeed an idiot.

But for Meg to claim she was not aware of a certain invitation to Sarah Palin until recently when we at FR were on top of it for a couple of weeks I believe is disingenuous or negligent in not keeping abreast of ‘everything Palin on the Internet or right-wing blogs’.
