President Barack Obama, increasingly impatient with Senate negotiations over health care, is weighing a plan to offer more details of his goals for overhauling the nation's health system, the White House said Tuesday.
The president is considering a speech in the next week or so in which he would be "more prescriptive" about what he feels Congress must include in a bill, top adviser David Axelrod said in an interview. The speech might occur before the Sept. 15 deadline that was given to Senate negotiators to seek a bipartisan bill, said Axelrod, who suggested that two key Republicans have not bargained in good faith.
Congress reconvenes next Tuesday after an August recess in which critics of Obama's health proposals dominated many public forums.
Some Obama allies, watching his approval ratings tumble in polls along with support for a health care overhaul, have urged the president to take a more hands-on approach. They feel he gave too much leeway to Congress, where one bill has passed three House committees, another has passed a Senate committee, and a third has been bogged down in protracted negotiations in the Senate Finance Committee.

This is not a topic he can help himself on because he knows absolutely nothing about it. I hope he gives speeches until the cows come home.
I hope he does. Every time he opens his mouth his ratings fall a little further.
But, he pushed to get the bill passed and on his desk before recess. Remember? It is utterly nuts that people forget that...
Obama knows what most Americans say he can do with his “health care plans.”
“The president is considering a speech in the next week or so”
Yes! Speech, Bilbo..speech! Mayhap he will don the One Ring and disappear into the mountains of Mordor and we will never see him again.
Me too for IMO, he is toast politically without passage of a health care plan.
May? As in “may” or “may not”?
He’s still stuck in campaign mode believing that he’s The One and people will flock to him and hang onto his every word. People are losing their jobs left and right and have given Obamacare the middle finger yet he is still out there trying to push this turkey. This has got to be the greatest collapse of a President in such a short time in U.S. history.
Obama in June: We will pass this bill.
Obama in july: We will vote and pass this bill.
Obama in August: You freakin’ jerks! I don’t care if the details are fuzzy! We must pass this bill!
Obama in Sept.: I need somebody to write some vague details to feed the TelePrompTer.
That tells the entire story. He wants to take over health care and he cares nothing about what is in the bill other than the gov will run it from the date of signing. The bill before congress was a nightmare, but it HAD to be passed.
He is in campaign mode. It’s his only strong point.
One of his advisors should tell him he won. It’s time to lead.
But it won’t happen.
As long as this bill is DOA.
Our government at its finest.
“increasingly Impatient” is he ?
I hope he doesn’t do one of those Hurry up ASAP bull S...t lines again.
We have some serious Economic issues.....

Repeat until President gets a clue.
8 months and Barry’s already out of touch with America.
Not interested in anything you got or anything you want, Nobamer.
I was just watching BOR and Laura Ingraham was interviewing a dem strategist. They were speaking about health care and BO’s inability to convince the public about it. Anyway, the strategist said, “After Labor Day BO have more time to campaign.” I kid you not, she said campaign. I hope someone else with more influence picks up on this and runs with it.
Don’t you think Obama is a little late?!
It will be a reprise of his campaign- let’s change the system and hope for for best. Yes we can shake down whitey and become a third world society. Do it- now.
