BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Republican Rex Rammell said Tuesday the hoopla over his remarks about hunting President Barack Obama has been a boon to his campaign, and he again refused to apologize for what he called a joke.
"This country needs to lighten up," the GOP gubernatorial candidate said during a press conference in a Boise park Tuesday.

Never, ever, give an apology for the sake of mollifying your enemies.
I can think of cases where a heartfelt apology is warranted, but a phony apology to the phonies who are in a permanent state of phony outrage is something no self-respecting man or woman should ever engage in. Never do it.
If they are demanding it, laugh at them. When they demand an apology for laughing at them, laugh at them some more.
Yup, grovelers ALWAYS lose, especially when they apologize.
Exactly. Grovel before your enemies, you deserve to lose.
And as a last resort tell them, “I’m sorry...you’re so easily offended”. That appears to be the leftist stock in trade...
If that is the case, I refuse to apologize for my ‘Doe Day’ remark as well.
