BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Funniest thing I've heard in awhile! Was the CFC program actually 'shovel ready' as far as reimbursements are concerned?!

Actually, I hope that, short of putting these guys out of business from the ensuing cash flow problems, the government DOES stiff them on the CFC Bravo Sierra. It might give us a much needed boost in the numbers of pissed off conservatives out there who will vote next election to CLEAN HOUSE.

If the cars are off the lots, then GM and Chrysler (unions) have been helped...by billions 2 and 3. The first billion was used almost exclusively for Fords and foreign cars. O never cared about dealers (entrepreneurs) anyway.

Obama is going to save us $3 billion dollars by stiffing car dealers. Now THAT is the Chicago way!

It’s actually a pretty serious white-knuckle situation for some dealers. I talked to a few of them about the program in the past week & while the dealers I talked to didn’t participate themselves (they didn’t have models under the $ limit or they didn’t want to deal with the ridiculous amount of paperwork), their colleagues at nearby dealerships who did are in a really tight squeeze right now. Many of them were hanging on by a thread before the C4C program, but with the reimbursements from the fed gov not forthcoming in a timely manner as had been originally promised, some which had been solvent before the fed gov decided to ‘help’ are actually now staring bankruptcy right in the face. Perhaps that was the Obama Admin’s intention?

"Car Dealers Still Waiting On 'Clunkers' Cash"

That must be the "Hopey" part of "Hopey Changey."

If I were a dealer, I'd be very concerned. 0bama is laughing his a$$ off and repeating "there's one born every minute", - that's how he got elected too.

Operative part of the quote:

“but you’ve got to believe in the government,” Scarpace said.

That’s the hopey part, dopey.

Well Japan and Germany got their money, but American business can just wait and HOPE they don’t go belly up before government “helps” them.

One guy on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning said he bought a car under the clunker program and can’t/won’t drive it because the dealership is withholding the title until they get their money from the government. He can’t get car tags for it until he gets the title. Talk about another example of the Law of Unintended Consequences when dealing with the Government.

Gee, I can't wait until these damn democrats are telling the American people what they can and cannot have in terms of medical care.

God help us all.

I wonder if dealers that have or have not been paid correlates to a dealer's contributions to the *ahem* "correct" political party?

When I think of “Cash For Clunkers”, I am reminded of the scene at the beginning of the Chevy Chase movie “Vacation”, where he trades in a perfectly working Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser wagon for a new, bigger station wagon.

But he doesn’t get what he wanted, instead he gets some monstrosity. SO he complains and asks for his car back, but the guy takes him around back and they have just crushed his old car.

That’s what is happening in CFC. You get a new car, except the dealer waits weeks and you might not end up qualifying, but in order to try to qualify they had to crush your old car, so you can’t get it back.

Bet that he cannot get insurance, either, without the title, and if he has possession of the car at his home, that means that he drove a vehicle that has no insurance.

This whole idea had “Whack-A-Mole” written all over it from the beginning.

Car dealers are overwhelmingly Republican.......a fact not lost on Obama.
