WASHINGTON, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today denounced an Executive Order signed by President Obama that repeals Executive Order 13202, that prohibited federal agencies and recipients of federal funding from requiring contractors to sign union-only project labor agreements (PLAs) as a condition of performing work on federal and federally funded construction projects.
I worked at the Indiana County Fair “Indiana Patriots” tent last night. For being Monday (always a slow day at the fair), we got lots of patriots signing our “offshore drilling” petition. First question they ask: “Is it for or against?”. My answer: “FOR! Drill baby drill!!!” and their response was always “Heck YEAH!” and we got a lot of signatures!
The pocket Constitutions were popular, and so many people shared their concerns, their anger, their desire to protect our Constitution and our freedom. It was inspiring!!
That’s discrimination!!! Just wrong!!!
1. Barack Obama Sneaks Through “Union Only” Order Shutting 8 in 10 Construction Workers Out of Federal Projects
There has not been a lot of coverage of this. It happened back in July and is only now winding its way through the federal system.
Barack Obama and his administration are about to significantly drive up the costs of federal building construction. This is an astonishing reach. The Office of Management and Budget has directed that any federal construction over $25 million benefit unions.
The order would make all federal construction projects 10-20% more expensive by requiring all contractors to either use union workers or apply inefficient union apprenticeship and work rules to their employees. Contractors would also be required to make contributions to union pension funds and other union programs that non-union workers will never benefit from.
This will hugely drive up the cost of construction of federal buildings and line the pockets of unions without even having union workers involved in the projects. The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that only 15.6% of private construction workers in America belong to unions. In other words, 8 out of 10 construction workers in America will be legally denied the right to work on federal building projects.
This is appalling.
Great news in the midst of a recession, right?

Obama’s day of reckoning has already come, here in the infancy of his presidency, as the polls each passing day attest. He could go through the pretense of being a centrist leader for a few precious weeks, maybe even months, but the real political center for him is so remote and so foreign that in the end the act of pretending would be as distasteful for him as his “normal” policies are for increasing numbers of Americans.
The fate of the Obama presidency is, I believe, a fait accompli. The question now is not how it will end — but when. I for one am growing increasingly skeptical that he can survive a complete four-year term without the American people or himself at some point crying “Enough!”

Anyone listening to Q (minus R) this am? He is explaining Castro and Che (I go nuts when I see those damn tee-shirts w/his likeness—my family had friends who had fled Cuba). Anyone else NOT surprised that Harvard (in 1959) welcomed Castro w/open arms...things don’t change much do they?
BTW I'm still planning on trying getting to the Senator Casey meeting on "Affordable Healthcare" at CCAC this morning. My son's car has to go in for inspection and that will hold me up or possible nix me going. Doors open at 9AM and meeting is supposed to start at 10.
Getting there before 9AM is pert near impossible, I might be able to get there around 10 but I doubt I'll get in. Maybe I could just shuffle around outside and wave mt Gadsden.
If I go I'll get pics but like I said it's is going to be tough.

And lastly, Quinn mentioned something I had talked about treatment of the ‘average’ Hillary supporter (white, middle aged, politically active Dem women). On another thread here yesterday (about the Lockerbie bomber release) it was discussed ‘what did Obama know about the imminent release, and when did Obama know it?’ And would Hillary fall on the sword (she gave her blessing) OR will Hillary use ‘this’ as a reason to resign her (now powerless) SOS position and start her plan to run in 2012. It was fascinating...and Quinn’s talk about the abuse of Hillary supporters by the thug Obama constituency made me think of that. Hillary could once again ‘patriotically dissent’ about the release of the Lockerbie bomber (and the Obama administration’s blesssing of same). Interesting...as the PUMA sites have never lost any steam or rancor against The One.
