Romney said keeping hand in GOP '12 race (Desperate Mitt Alert)

BOSTON, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Republican former U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is quietly raising millions of dollars as he prepares for the 2012 campaign, analysts say.

Observers say that since he lost the GOP presidential primaries last year, the former Massachusetts governor has shown his usual competitiveness and discipline in keeping his presidential aspirations in play, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.

"He lost a tough race," New Hampshire state Sen. Jeb Bradley, a Republican former member of the U.S. House, told the newspaper. "After that, Mitt could have done anything he wanted with his life: back to the non-profit world or start a new business. But what has he been doing? He's kept at it. He's been busting his butt since losing more than anyone I have ever seen."

Sure she has, she didn’t build a 6 or 7 hundred million dollar personal fortune over the decades with out creating and saving many jobs, she is an industry not a chick that pulls up in a VW with a guitar.

The point is that your point was idiotic, are you as successful as Obama or John Edwards, or Al Gore? Why would you try to use such a childish attack on a freeper?

You are missing basic economic principles. A person like Madonna can “earn” millions via recordings, shows and such. All that creates are temporary jobs. OTOH a corporation creates permanent jobs. Big difference. Besides I admire Madonna’s singing talent. Her recording of “La Isla Bonita” I never tire of listening to. I admire her talent. It does not mean I am politically aligned with her.

The attacks on Romney on by some here make no sense. He is a prominent republican and I support republicans. I have to believe him when he says he has come over to the conservative side. Even Ronald Reagan was once a democrat and a union chief. Every human being is capable of eveolving. I resent the mindless attacks on Romney. Which is why I put the attackers in their place by pointing out how insignificant success they have achieved compared to Romney. ANd that includes ME and YOU.

Reagan was becoming nationally known as a conservative in the 1940s as head of that union, Reagan spent 8 plus years in the military, Reagan was a famous conservative before he registered republican, Reagan spoke at Goldwaters convention, the one the Romneys stormed out of, Reagan was a famous conservative before roevswade and the Reagan revolution and the republican revolution of 1994 and the Clinton years and the Bush years, but not Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney was a liberal, not a 1950s democrat, Mitt stayed liberal through the 1960s, the 1970s , the 1980s, the 1990s and half of the 2000s, he stayed liberal through the abortion wars, the cold war, the Reagan years, actually Romney switched registration because of Reagan, Romney was doing democrat fund raising in 1992 before switching his registration back to republican in late 1993 for a political race.

It wasn’t until starting his 2008 campaign in mid 2005 that the 59 year old man adopted a new persona to fool you.

I will take a moderate of any party any time over what we have in the White House, who is a radical socialist. I grew up in a socialist government run country and unfortunately many Americans have no idea how bad that is. Obama is not only screwing you and me, he is screwing our children and grand children. Yes, I will take Romney over Obama any day, any time, any place.

That is the mantra of liberal republicans that want a liberal republican Romney elected instead of a conservative.

This is FR not a moderate republican club.

My apologies if this has already been said but, MIT!, you nitwit, you will never win the POTUS slot as a pubbie, the libertarians won’t even speak to you and the dims are enjoying a very small distraction from their woes, at our expense! Why don’t you go and slick into teddys’ senate seat and join the NE republican dinosaur collection. Between the three of ya’ll, after about a million years, we might be able to get maybe 2 litres of oil from ya.

Part of me hopes he doesn’t run, so we can focus on the future.

But a small part of me wishes he would run and win, just because it would be fun to the reaction of his detractors here — heads exploding would be fun.

Still, I think 2008 was his chance, and 2012 will be for someone else.

IN the end, I think that is the real problem he won’t be able to overcome.

It makes no difference what should be, or could be. Perception is reality when it comes to voting. If the voters won’t vote for you, there’s really nothing you can do about it.

It’s why I think Palin has a too-tough road to cross. She is loved by a solid minority, but hated or seen as a non-player by a solid majority. It will be hard for her to convert enough people from the 2nd group to end up with a majority of votes in national election, even if she might be able to get a primary victory.

Without question Romney has a yuck factor.

Without question Palin is a charismatic winner, Palin is having to deal with the worst press that we have ever seen and she has never had a chance to counter it with a personal national campaign, yet even at this low point she is where she is based solely on herself, she has yet to even have her first marketing campaign.

Palin’s likability is proven by her incredible string of election wins that are driven solely by herself, not money, power, name, or any of the other hooks that politicians use to catapult them into politics, Romney was typical in that sense with a famous name and a famous political family, power, wealth, celebrity, a carefully groomed persona, publicity and an accumulated war chest and political alliances built before he entered politics openly.
Palin started out in her little home town with people that knew her and her school teacher parents.

Palin truly was the most popular Governor in America before September 2008 with approval numbers in the stratosphere, reaching as high as 93%, that fact reveals the truth that the national media cannot hide, she generates energy because she is likable and trustworthy, she inspires confidence and exudes a noble spirit, people see in her something decent and pure American and real, that is why she can let the cameras follow her into unbelievable situations yet she looks totally comfortable and natural and competent in them, for instance working and talking on camera on a commercial fishing boat. Palin can do things that no politician would try and it is because she is not posing, or faking a photo op, she is real and natural every where she is.

Well, no one here ever accuses you of being conservative.

It wouldn’t be the sound of heads exploding, it would be the sound of the GOP going up in the greatest conflagration since Hiroshima. A repeat of Massachusetts on a national scale.

The only reason I would have voted for Romney was if McCain was the only other choice. Ain't gonna happen again.
