Little Rock - U.S. Rep. Mike Ross says he believes some overhaul of the nation's health care system will be achieved this year, but doubts it will include a government-run option.

Ross told students at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service on Monday that he doubts liberals or conservatives will be completely pleased with whatever health reforms are achieved.

Ross also told students that he thinks House leaders have focused too much on covering the uninsured as a goal of the health reform overhaul pushed by President Barack Obama. Ross said the focus should also be on reforming the insurance industry and keeping costs down for those with coverage. ...

Like a Japanese soldier pretending to be dead in WW2, don’t trust these people until you’re absolutely sure it won’t jump up ever again.

The chatter on Chicago talk radio today is that “Obama needs a win, badly” and that he will smear some lipstick on an insurance reform pig and call it good, take a victory lap.

It’ll still be a pig regardless.

Lift the insurance mandates that require insurance to cover things people don’t necessarily want to pay for!!! Things like acupuncture, wigs, and substance abuse counseling. Mandates make it so that the only insurance plans available are too expensive for many people.

Every time Congress undertakes to "reform" an industry and "keep costs down", it ends up costing consumers money.

Anybody for more "cable reform"...??? How about "air-quality reform"...???

Didn't the head of the mafia, oops, I mean the AFL-CIO announce today that the Dems will be in trouble if no public option is included? My sense, the AFL-CIO wants to pocket those monies that would otherwise pay for health premiums. I doubt the dues will be lowered accordingly.

They need to round file all of the current bills, all non starters. The entire house bill (all 1K pages) is a POS and none of it needs to survive in any form.

The Clinton School admitted 16 students from around the globe in its inaugural class in 2005. Now in its fourth year, the school has increased admission to 30 students and has a current enrollment of 60 students.

And then there is the Clinton Governor's School...

exactly...once they get the bill passed in some watered down fashion, project creep will set in or as what was once famously said, “Stroke of the pen, law of the land, kinda cool”..

I actually agree with the dem here. Method may differ, but that’s a better starting point.

If you get the damn illegals out of the country there is no health care cost problem. Other than a lot of doctors, who love too provide services to illegals and bill the tax payers, are going to see one hell of a cut in their pay.

It’s sad how we develop legislation. This whole conference deal is a very backwards way of doing things. It’s better to get down to the common concensus and move from there....rather than this stab in the back way we have it.
