From Wildlandfire Hotlist...
Update per KCAL-TV.....the authorities refuse to go in to rescue these people now as the situation is way too dangerous and they had been warned and refused to accept common sense and wisdom and how they are in trouble hunkering down in a cabin.

He was mad as a wet hen about it as these civilians had been admonished to leave and refused and then they were now yelling over the phone that they wanted to be rescued.
This would now be only possible by helicopter, thus needlessly endangering the firefighters involved in the rescue and taking that helicopter away from what it was supposed to be doing fighting the fire.
I heard the whole thing on the scanner...whatever...
what they arent saying is that they were doing a firing operation also...and I bet those folks werent aware of that....
the Sheriffs were about to drive into an inferno to try to get to the people.
CNN reporting the same-—five people trapped in a cabin. Too dangerous to rescue them!
wow. I’m amazed at the response. good for them.
Don’t get me wrong, I certainly hope the people are alright. But their story serves as a lesson. Go Means Go.
