Her PR woman has denied excepting any invitations. Are you not aware of that fact?
How many times do we have to go over this? She says she didn’t confirm the acceptances, but also has said that Palin had hoped to make it to the various events. That fits with what the other side have been saying, which is that they were led to believe that she would try to/hoped to make it, even though she hadn’t absolutely confirmed. (Though this last one sounds closer to a confirmed appearance and signing, though not for a ‘speech’, which is what Stapleton perhaps disingenuously denied.)
Leaving that opening is the source of the PR problems, whether or not the other players should have run with the maybes. Blaming would-be supporters and hosts is a compounding of the error.
But let’s hope that’s behind Palin now. With the speakers bureau, she should have the level of professional handling on it that she requires.
I’m confident that Palin has a grasp of the larger opportunity, is as good a natural politician as is out there, and is going to be a hero for the Republican Party and our country.
