Aren’t square shaped storms shown on the tracking map a bit unusual? <;?)

We have are going to our timeshare in Cabo 7 weeks from today. Depending on where this thing goes, we might be changing our plans.

To tell you the truth, I’ve never seen that particular model before.

If it takes the western route, it could go over the same areas where Dolly went last year.

re: square storms unusual

Not at all. This is typical of Carl Rovian storms. They are made square so that when they travel over land, it is then easier to alert the affected counties and mobilize the natural guard, fema, and other relief agencies.

I like Wunderground. I consult it several times a day (We’re kind of weather nuts up here)

So now, naming hurricanes must be saddled with POLITICAL CORRECTNESS too?

I guess hurricane Shaniqua is not far behind Jimena, WHAT?!!!

As the incessant chip, chip, chipping away of America-as-we-knew-it continues unabated.

Hoping this will bring some rain to drought-stricken south Texas.

We usually get a spin-off from Baja storms. Man we need it!

We could use a drought buster up here in the Austin area too.

What’s really neat is there are links to personal weather stations all over the world.

This was the same storm that they said yesterday/Saturday had a <20% chance of becoming a tropical storm, and its already a hurricane.

We can hope the rains associated with this will put out the fires in So Cal but I wonder if the winds that precede the rains might make the fires worse.

Lets hope so. (even though we are in bad shape here in Texas) Rai in the western US is always beneficial.
