Obama faces growing anger on the left (Gays wait for policy repeal)

By the time this year's tally for gay service members discharged under the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy had hit 250, Rep. Alcee L. Hastings said he could wait no longer.

The Florida Democrat decided in June to send a letter to President Obama demanding that the policy be repealed. Mr. Hastings said he was surprised when 76 other members - most of them fellow Democrats - agreed to add their signatures, and even more surprised when the letter went unanswered for the next two months.

"We're being ignored," he said.

The president won't be able to ignore the simmering discontent within his own party much longer, the congressman said, not on this military policy or on a range of other issues on which the president appears to be charting a course that veers away from his political base.

Evidence of this has been abundant in the health care debate, where a core group of Democrats reacted angrily to signs that the White House was getting ready to abandon a public insurance plan as part of its health care bill. But anxiety is growing in other areas, too. Environmentalists dislike the watering down of climate change legislation in the House. Anti-war activists are unhappy with the president's escalation in Afghanistan. This list goes on.

Obama is living proof of Lincoln’s adage: You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

The questions become: How long can Obama fool enough of the people? When will enough of the people wake up enough to kick the scoundrels out? Will enough of the people learn enough from the Obama debacle to prevent its recurrence?

The influence of the media has been a well recognized source of power since the days of moveable type (i.e., the Fourth Estate). However, the power of radio as an instrument of public control was first employed effectively by the Nazis more than 70 years ago. The use of TV in a similar capacity with far more dramatic results began only a few decades later with America’s own Edward R. Murrow leading the way. Walter Cronkite further demonstrated that impact by carrying media power to the point where it could cause the most militarily powerful country in the world to willfully and unnecessarily lose a war. Barrack Obama’s election is nothing more than a refinement and extension of that power.

Unlike the Nazis who used direct government control of the media, the current control is far more effective and difficult to counter. The current control is executed in conjunction with the government, rather than by it. That control is, in reality, driven from the halls of academia. Lenin, long ago, realized and acknowledged that the path to lasting political power lay in controlling the education system. With control of the education system, comes the ability to control the mind set of young, malleable citizens before they come to positions of influence within society.

The communists in this country began their overt power grab of academia before the 1920’s. They have very patiently extended their control for decades to the point where they have inculcated their poisonous philosophy into those who currently report and disseminate slanted and biased information to the public.

However, far beyond the impact of controlling that education system for the benefit of commanding the media, is much the broader based control that is extended over the consumers of the media. By effectively keeping the products of the education system (future voters, leaders and media consumers) from learning the ability to think critically and logically, the education system creates the ability of media purveyors to create an obviously false image of reality and still have it readily accepted as the truth.

However, Lincoln was right. You cannot fool all of the people all of the time, even with control of the media and the education system. Unfortunately, the Progressives (formerly known as Liberals and Socialists) are not aiming at “fooling all of the people." They intend only to “fool” enough of them “long enough” reach the point where their seized control of the government cannot be revoked by the power of the people to control their own Republic.

The only effective counter is employ the Progressive strategy against them. We must regain control of the education system, or, at the very least, prevent Progressive control of it. This education counter-revolution can only be accomplished by firmly re-establishing the basic unit of society, the family.

A 30% illegitimacy rate, with a nearly 70% rate among some minority population groups, is destroying any ability to re-establish the family. The glorification of drug use, promiscuity and many other similar phenomena driven by our media must be countered and reversed. Additionally, the encouragement of recognizing teen years as a culture in its own right rather than as a passage into adult culture must be turned around as well.

It is a daunting task. Nonetheless, we, the American people, have met and surmounted a number daunting tasks in history. It admittedly takes recognition of the challenge, dogged determination and unrelenting effort. However, once the American people are roused to action, they have seldom failed in the past. God bless and further our efforts in the current struggle against enemies, both within and without.

Hastings is playing games, I thought it took an act of congress to change that military law.

I also read Ted Kennedy was the major pusher of that legislation and that is gone now that he is gone.
