LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say flames from a major wildfire north of Los Angeles are about to reach Mount Wilson, home to a historic observatory and transmitters for every major television and radio station in the area. Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Mark Savage tells KABC-TV Sunday that "it's not a matter of if it impacts Mount Wilson, it's a matter of when," and estimated that the flames could leap to the top of the mountain within a few hours. Savage says firefighters could be pulled at any moment if the situation becomes dangerous. Television stations say if the antennas burn, broadcast signals will be affected but satellite and cable transmissions should not be. Two giant telescopes and several multimillion-dollar astronomy programs are also located at the observatory.

Are these fires as widely spaced as the news media make them appear to be? Widespread arson was a tactic planned by at least one Islamic terrorist group.
Will talk radio go off the air?

We’ll all need to be going to satellite radio as zer0 will be shutting the airwaves.
Of course, this assumes that the envirowackos don't get in there with lawsuits trying to prevent the replacements. How would they do this? Well, firefighters were up there doing some firefighting, so the ground got wet. Voila! intermittent wetlands at to top of Mt. Wilson! Don't laugh, they would try it.
I believe you!
“at to” = “at the”
That’s a shame. (In my best Seinfeld voice.)
Unless it gets the cable going up the tower, ABC should stay on the air.
Yhry have diesel back up generators, the structure is a type 1 building and they transmit all peograming by microwave from Prospect and Talmadge.
Their only problem is that if anything goes wrong they don’t have personel on site and they have to drive up there freom L.A.
KFI 640 (Rush Limbaugh) broadcasts from a tower in La Mirada, my home town.

Hope it works. And I pray you’ll be ok!
Oh, the irony!

I see KTWV listed.
I get it via online streaming for their smooth jazz format,
when I am not listening to the talkers.
I highly recommend this online site for streaming ANY radio formats:
