Rasmussen poll: Replace the entire Congress in November @ 12:50 pm by Tony Romm
More than half of voters surveyed in a recent Rasmussen poll say they would prefer to replace every member of Congress this November a slight decrease in voter dissatisfaction with both chambers since October 2008.
More troubling for Congressional Republicans in particular: 69 percent say the party's elected officials are out of touch with their conservative base.
Rasmussen cites a number of reasons for voters' increased frustration with their lawmakers, including the "unpopular $700-billion bailout plan in the heat of a presidential campaign and a seeming financial industry meltdown."
But contributing most to the dismal numbers seems to be the health care debate. Only 22 percent of respondents think their legislators have a "good understanding" of the proposed reforms, Rasmussen discovered in related poll last week. By contrast, more than half of those surveyed rate their knowledge of health care as "excellent" a number that seems to be in direct conflict with an earlier AARP poll, in which a number of respondents could not correctly explain what a public option was.
Conservatives hate stinking RINOs like Juan Pedro McCain, Miss Lindsay Grahma-nesty, Mel “Tony Montana” Martinez, Miss Charlene Crist, Snowe, Collins and other RINO vermin.
It’s not impossible. Read the following:
WHY ARE WE BANKRUPT?
Informative, and mind boggling!
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:
Boy, was I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.
I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I also have included the URL’s for verification of all the following facts.

Are we THAT stupid? YES, FOR LETTING THOSE IN THE U.S. CONGRESS GET AWAY WITH LETTING THIS HAPPEN YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!!!
If this doesn’t bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident
There are some very good conservatives serving in both the House and the Senate who should be re-elected so let us not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Conversely, every single liberal member of the House and the Senate should be voted out of office even the socalled blue dogs because they are too easily manipulated and intimidated by the liberal left.
Only 69%?
That said, power and corruption go hand-in-hand.
That's the problem. Everybody thinks Congress should be blown up, but they mean everybody else's Congressmen. Because "my congressmen knows how to bring home the pork."
That's why there is no change.
“More than half of voters surveyed in a recent Rasmussen poll say they would prefer to replace every member of Congress this November...”
Sounds like a good place to start. Clean house. In addition, legislators could be constrained for a session or two to only rescinding previous initiatives.
I agree with you, however, if I were to move down the road a few miles, I would be screaming to replace my representative. The Congressman in my district is, for the most part, doing a fine job - not that I agree with every decision he has made.
Amen, dfwgator.
This movement begins with each of us doing whatever we can to defeat OUR OWN incumbent congressman.
They should not only be removed, they should be tried for malfeasance and corruption.
While I like my congressman, Dr. Tom Price, I wouldn’t hesitate to push the giant reset button and throw them all out. We would be rid of Pelosi and Reid to start with. Then we would also be rid of Upchucky Schumer, Barbara Boxer and a bunch of RINOs like McCain and Lindsey Grahamnesty.
Perezagruska!! (Russian for ‘reset’) Bring it on!!
TERM LIMITS...DAMN IT! TERM LIMITS NOW!
Only if they are replaced with conservatives who will throw out the legislative misinterpretations of constitutional authority and get back to the firm division between what the Federal government can do (very limited) and what falls to the states to control.
The problem is, the next general Congressional election is not this November; it is the November after this one.
For as long as I can remember, congress has had very low approval numbers. Yet every two years, almost all the incumbents are re-elected. In other words, people have this vague feeling that congress is destructive and corrupt, but they don’t seem to be inclined to do anything about it.
The two parties only sell the same old candidates year after year. Here on the left coast it is pretty much one party fits all. You’d think the GOP could find someone to boot out Murray and Cantwell.
Things are going to get a lot worse by the time the 2010 elections roll around. The fun is just starting.
We need a list of all the Conservative “Good Guys and Gals” in the House and Senate that we should keep. A second list of the Semi-Conservatives OK People, a list of must get rid of people. This should be posted and we must support their opponents even if they do not belong to the established parties. We got to know who is who.
