Personal information is up for grabs with Democrats' government health care
Washington Times ^ | Sunday, August 30, 2009 | Editorial

Privacy rights are under threat in the House's government health care plan. While plowing through the more than 1,000-page Democratic House bill, Declan McCullagh of CBS News uncovered provisions that would allow startling privacy intrusions. The innermost secrets of people's personal lives would be made available to thousands of government bureaucrats.

Section 431(a) requires the Internal Revenue Service to give detailed taxpayer information to the new health choices commissioner and state health programs. The helpful government just wants to be able to tell citizens when they might be eligible for benefits they somehow might have overlooked. Besides letting all those government bureaucrats know about an individual's income, number of dependents and filing status, the plan has an unlimited catchall that would require disclosure of "other information as is prescribed by" the health commissioner. The IRS would be commanded to provide whatever information about individual taxpayers the health choices commissioner deemed necessary. . . .

Never happen. Don’t you know, they’ve already attached an exemption for themselves. So none of this will apply to them. That alone should tell us everything we need to know about this so-called “reform” bill.

>>> While plowing through the more than 1,000-page Democratic House bill, Declan McCullagh of CBS News <<<<<<

I have to give Declan McCullough credit for this. I tried and stopped on page 100 or so. Too much trivia, exhausting.

McCullough has been covering “cyber issues” in DC for many years, he’s a very decent and thorough reporter and has come across some good scoops over the years.

Anyway, IMO if Declan McCullough is reporting this I have confidence that he’s being honest and painstaking.

“Even a well-meaning government can easily turn into an oppressive government. Bureaucrats have no right to minute details about our personal lives, but government health care would hand it all over.”

Ours is NOT a “well-meaning” government. It is an association of radical leftists and power mongers, seeking domination over 300 million people. And why the interest in our financial info? A 70 yr old multi-millionaire winds up with a bad illness. Withholding treatment would mean millions to Big Brother upon his necessarily earlier date of death. Think this isn’t uppermost in the minds of our government “caregivers?”

And if forgot to mention.....

Why is it that Declan McCullough is singled out as a DC reporter who is actually **reading the bill**?

How can any of these alleged “objective journalists” of DC deign to report on it if they haven’t read the damned bill?

The arrogant and shameless mendacity of “objective journalists” knows no bounds.

There are no “objective journalists” among the MSM, or state run media as Rush calls them. Only water carriers for the corrupt administration.

They have no business having access to this information. It’s just another intrusion into our personal lives and I hate this administration with a passion and what they’re trying to do to our country. If they hate it so much, then get out. There are plenty of communist countries they can live in whose ideology better agrees with theirs.

Well, there are many, many pompous reporters and scribblers who sincerely believe they are “objective journalists,” which anyone else can clearly see they are not.

If they are banning consideration of pre-existing conditions and they are not going to make judgments concerning who should be allowed to have healthcare, then why do they need to have this info?

Dear Governor Perry,

On March 30, 2009 the Texas House of Representatives passed HCR 50 affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment.

You have publicly supported this bill, and stated that attorney generals from all over the union could be getting ready to sue the US Government.

We are asking you to take the lead.

We are asking you to order the Texas Attorney General to publicly begin working on a law suit under Article IV, Ninth, and Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.

We are asking you to protect the citizens of Texas that we will not stand for government controlled healthcare in our state.

Under your leadership we can effectively kill the proposal of this administration and allow Texas to be a state free from socialism and collectivism.

Be the voice of reason in the national debate and allow Texans the ability to solve the problems of our state.

Thank you,

Facts about the 10th Amendment:

The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution’s principle of Federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.

HCR 50 HAS PASSED THE HOUSE 99-36!
Affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates, and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

Take Action! Before it is too late!

The unstated purpose of Obamacare is wealth redistribution and reparations. I believe the goal is that if you have money you will be forced to pay for a much larger percentage of your health care compared to someone who does not have much money.

Here’s something I feel has been pretty much overlooked during the debate over healthcare.

National healthcare cannot happen with out a national ID card of some type.

-11nobama and his thugs want to create a hugh database of our medical records. They will not be able to base this on SSN due to all the shenanigans the illegal aliens have played with SSN.

So they will have to invent something new. Which bothers me. But it would bother me less if to qualify for a card you had to produce proof positive that you are a US citizen.

This has already happened.

Low/no income people can qualify for Medicaid. The taxpayers pay 100% of their health care, except for dental and vision which Medicaid doesn't cover. But it does include prescription meds. Their co-pay is around $10.

But, think about the other end of the income scale. Say you are in the top income tax bracket and need heart surgery. Before Obamacare you had health insurance. Now, you don’t. Because you are “rich” the government isn’t going to pay for your heart surgery. They might, if you’re lucky, pay a small percentage. And when the government does pay something liberals will say that is “subsidizing” the rich millionaire and argue that you really shouldn’t get anything at all.
